Position Summary

The Manager of Partnerships will work closely with the leadership team and programme leads to develop new or extend existing partnerships. She/he is responsible for leading, identifying, and developing new business opportunities and collaborations for GCNS. She/he should be solution and outcome-focused, with a natural aptitude for stakeholder engagement and management.

We’re looking for an agile individual who can readily assume new responsibilities, actively listen to stakeholders, and employ innovative approaches towards designing and presenting win-win solutions. We seek someone genuinely keen to make a positive impact, and capable of considering short, medium, and long-term perspectives when pursuing outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Identify local business and ecosystem needs to develop and execute new, differentiated products and services for GCNS in support of our mission and strategy.
  • Nurture strategic relations with local ecosystem stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, NGOs, and academic institutions, to further GCNS’ mission, strengthen its GCNS’ local presence market position, and scale activities 
  • Expand existing partnerships for training and capacity-building
  • Internally, within GCNS, look across the business to find revenue generation, growth, and improvement opportunities
  • Originator of new ideas and content to support GCNS thought leadership and point-of-views
  • Strengthen collaborative relationships with the United Nations Global Compact, affiliate networks, and other international partners.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum seven years of relevant working experience in partnerships/business development
  • Strong familiarity and network within the sustainability ecosystem and national agency players in Singapore
  • Proven track record in project management, including new programme identification, design, development, scheduling, and execution, as well as oversight of P&L.
  • Strong organisational capabilities and ability to innovate and seamlessly work with teams focused on execution.
  • Experience in building networks and communities. 
  • Good analytical thought process and business acumen, matched by the ability to consider financial and non-financial bottom lines for critical stakeholders, anticipate issues, and offer ideas for resolution.
  • Public speaking and facilitation would be an added plus.
  • Having experience in curating curriculums is an added advantage.

Manager, Finance and Accounts

Position Summary

UN Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), the local chapter of the United Nations Global Compact, is seeking a Finance and Accounts Manager to oversee the financial operations at GCNS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the full financial accounts, budget planning as well as supporting senior management team in offering data-driven insights and financial guidance for decision making, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will join an active UN Global Compact local network – an ambitious team that is energised behind our mission to promote corporate sustainability and responsible business in Singapore and the region.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the full set of financial accounts, ensuring that financial data from projects are entered into the books of account and reconciled every month
  • Produce monthly financial statements, variance analysis and forecasting for the Management Committee, managers and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the annual audit process
  • Prepare annual budgets in consultation with project leads and senior management
  • Coordinate the budget-setting and financial processes with project managers
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure allocated budgets are closely met
  • Liaise with the United Nations Global Compact Office on membership fees and quarterly reports
  • Develop and execute the internal audit processes in collaboration with senior management
  • Oversee grants application and donor administration, including processing of grants/donations, issuing of tax-deductible receipts and prepare the necessary submission of donor information to IRAS
  • Handle statutory submissions to authorities and ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations
  • Manage and work with vendor to manage all the payment and receivable process ensuring we collect all the payments and accounts are paid on time
  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • At least a Diploma in Accountancy/Finance
  • CA/ACCA/CPA/ICAEW would be advantageous
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and management reporting requirements
  • Good analytical thought process and business acumen, able to anticipate issues and offer ideas for resolution
  • Knowledge of requirements by Charities and IPC regulations is advantageous
  • Experience in managing/coordinating external audit is required, and internal audit processes is advantageous
  • Have a positive work ethic and determination in getting things done within tight deadlines
  • Meticulous and organised, with a mature disposition to take ownership of projects and targets assigned
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work within a small team dynamic
  • Working beyond regular office time may be required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
