On 26 June 2024, we held our thought leadership dialogue ahead of our 19th Annual General Meeting where we welcomed close to 100 attendees to engage in a dynamic plenary discussion and join the launch of our Climate Action Guide in collaboration with Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL).

Here are some key takeaways from the event:

🌱 Importance of transition plans: They serve as road maps for aligning business operations with climate imperatives by articulating clear targets and strategies for companies to mitigate risk, seize new opportunities and demonstrate accountability to stakeholders

💼 Leadership buy-in: Strong leadership commitment is crucial, with the management needing to set an example for the rest of the organization

🤝 External stakeholder engagement: It’s critical to engage with external stakeholders such as suppliers and customers to understand their journey and incorporate them into the transition

📊 Continuous adaptation and monitoring: Sustainability efforts must be adaptive to changing regulatory landscapes and environmental factors. Regular monitoring and adaptation of transition plans ensure relevance and effectiveness over time

🌟 Tough but rewarding journey: Leading an organization through a transition plan is challenging but as sustainability becomes the license to operate, it is crucial to start taking action now and future-proof your business
